Jodhpur, April 3, 2026 (Rajasthan): The Food Safety Department took a major action against adulterated food items in Jodhpur's Mandore Mandi on Thursday. The department's team conducted a surprise raid and confiscated large quantities of ghee and other food items. This action created panic throughout the market area.
13,244 kg ghee and food items recovered
During the raid, the team seized approximately 13,244 kg of ghee and other food items. Preliminary investigations indicate that these products may be adulterated. Officials on the spot immediately took samples and sent them to the laboratory for testing.
Action taken under the direction of higher officials
This entire action was carried out under the direction of Food Safety Commissioner T. Shubhamangala. At the local level, the team raided the market on the instructions of Chief Medical Officer Dr. S.S. Shekhawat. The department had been receiving complaints of adulteration here for a long time, following which this action was taken.
