Udaipur.
In Udaipur, Rajasthan, police officers set an example of humanity and affection that won everyone's heart. The entire police station staff attended the wedding of Mirabai, a woman who has cooked for the police officers at the city's Pratapnagar police station for the past 25 years, as a family, and honored her with the traditional dowry.
In fact, on Sunday evening, police personnel led by Pratapnagar Police Station Officer Puran Singh Rajpurohit arrived at Mirabai's home in traditional attire, accompanied by the beats of drums. The policemen arrived at her home in Sundarwas wearing turbans and took home the dowry, carrying clothes and cash on plates. The atmosphere was filled with joy and a sense of belonging.
The police station staff together paid the dowry of Rs 1.11 lakh.
The police team presented Mirabai with a dowry of 111,000 rupees on the occasion of her son's wedding. The ceremony of "Feravani" was also performed. Police Station Officer Puran Singh Rajpurohit honored Mirabai by draping a scarf on her and praised her long-standing and dedicated work.
Upon arrival at Mirabai's home, the police officers were warmly welcomed by family and relatives. Mirabai was moved by the affection and respect shown by the police team.
Mirabai takes care of policemen like a mother
Renu Khoiwal, a sub-inspector at the police station, said that Mirabai has been cooking meals for the police officers at the station for the past two and a half decades. She takes care of everyone like a mother. She often calls everyone to eat on time and repeatedly asks if anyone has had their meal.
Police officers say that over the years, Mirabai not only cooked meals but also developed a family-like relationship with the entire staff. Because of this closeness, all the police officers at the station decided to honor her by paying the dowry at her son's wedding.
Raising children amid struggles
Mirabai's life has been full of struggles. She said her husband died in a road accident just a year after their marriage. Their son, Mukesh Gayri, was only six months old at the time.
After her husband's death, she raised her children by sweeping and mopping houses and doing odd jobs. Later, she landed a job as a cook at a police station officer's home. From there, her hard work and dedication led to the responsibility of cooking meals for the policemen at the Pratapnagar police station, a role she continues to hold to this day.
This Myra became an example of humanity and respect.
This initiative by the police proved that behind the uniform lies a sensitive heart. The police staff's respect and support for Mirabai has become a unique example of social concern and humane relationships.
This event not only became memorable for Mirabai, but also proved to strengthen the feeling of trust and belongingness between the police and the common people.
