At the very beginning of the Indian Premier League 2026, young Rajasthan Royals batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi stunned cricket fans. In a match played in Guwahati, he smashed a half-century in just 15 balls, making his name one of the fastest half-centuries in IPL history.
Record breaking innings created panic
Opening the innings for Rajasthan Royals, Suryavanshi displayed aggressive attitude from the start. He smashed 52 runs in just 17 balls, including four fours and five sixes. His strike rate was over 300, clearly demonstrating the explosive nature of his innings.
This was his second half-century of his IPL career, and the remarkable thing was that he broke his own previous record. Last season, he reached his fifty in 17 balls, while this time he did it even faster, reaching it in 15 balls.

KL Rahul, Pat Cummins, and Romario Shepherd are among the players who have scored half-centuries in 14 balls. Yusuf Pathan, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, and Jake Fraser-McGurk are among the players who have scored fifty in 15 balls.
