Jaipur. Just before the Rajasthan Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2025 exam, the Supreme Court has significantly revised its earlier order, limiting the scope of relief granted to overage candidates. Now, only the 713 candidates who filed a petition in this matter will be able to appear for the exam.
In fact, following the Supreme Court's initial order, it was believed that all overage candidates would be exempted from appearing in the exam. However, on Friday, a special vacation bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Satish Chandra Sharma clarified that this relief would be limited to the petitioners only.
what is the whole matter
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) is conducting the SI Recruitment 2025 exam on April 5 and 6. The age limit for this recruitment was controversial, with some candidates claiming they were overage and approaching the court.
These candidates argued that they should be granted age relaxation due to delays in the recruitment process and other reasons. The Supreme Court had previously granted them interim relief, allowing them to appear in the examination.
Why did the court change its decision?
The Supreme Court has now amended its order, clarifying that this relief will not apply to all overage candidates. The court stated that only those candidates who have filed petitions in this regard will be eligible for this benefit.
This decision has brought great relief to RPSC, as it will not require any major changes or additional arrangements in the examination process.
impact on the recruitment process
The exam will be held as scheduled on April 5 and 6.
Only 713 petitioner candidates will get a chance despite being overage.
Other overage candidates will not get the benefit of this relaxation.
Increased excitement among candidates
The Supreme Court's revised order has created confusion and debate among candidates. Many candidates who were hoping for relief are now disappointed.
What will happen next?
This matter is not yet completely over. The main petition will continue to be heard, where a final decision will be made regarding the age limit. For now, the examination process will continue as scheduled.
This Supreme Court decision has made it clear that judicial relief will only be available in a limited scope. While this has brought clarity to the recruitment process, it has also dashed the hopes of many candidates.
