Jodhpur. The administration has now taken a tough stance against the growing illegal encroachments on forest land in the city. Following a long-standing investigation into complaints and encroachments, the administration has prepared to take major action against thousands of illegal constructions.
According to reports, the administration has identified 9,526 houses that have been built on forest department land without permission. As a first step toward removing these illegal encroachments , it has decided to disconnect the electricity and water connections to the affected homes.
First the facilities will be closed, then encroachment will be removed
The administration's strategy is to first cut off basic amenities to these illegal constructions to put pressure on the encroachers. If people still don't vacate voluntarily, they may be bulldozed to demolish the structures .
Officials say that this step has been taken with the aim of protecting the environment and freeing government land from encroachment.

Increasing pressure on forest land has become a cause for concern
The rapid rise of illegal construction in the forest area surrounding Jodhpur city has long been a cause for concern. These encroachments are not only damaging the environment but also affecting wildlife habitats.
The Forest Department and the local administration were continuously receiving complaints, after which this action was decided after a joint survey.
Administration warning
The administration has clarified that this campaign is only the beginning. Further, all such illegal encroachments will be identified and strict action will be taken. People have also been urged not to undertake any illegal construction on government and forest land, or face legal action.
Concern among local people, administration strict
The decision has caused concern among residents of the affected areas. However, the administration maintains that action is being taken within the law and that any illegal occupation will not be tolerated.
This is considered the largest action ever taken to free forest land from encroachment in Jodhpur. This campaign is expected to intensify in the coming days, with hopes of curbing illegal encroachments in the city.
