Jaipur, April 8.
To curb the rapidly increasing cybercrime in the state, the Rajasthan Police has advised the public to remain vigilant and adopt digital security measures. In this direction, the "Chakshu Portal," launched by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, has now emerged as an effective security shield for the public.
According to the Cyber Crime Branch of the Rajasthan Police, this portal provides a platform for quick action against fraudulent calls, suspicious messages, and social media fraud. Significantly, filing a complaint here not only blocks the mobile number, but also blacklists the device's IMEI number. This prevents criminals from using the same phone to commit fraud again.
How does the Chakshu portal work?
Filing a complaint on the portal is extremely easy. If a person receives a suspicious call, SMS, or WhatsApp message, they can provide relevant information, such as:
Call/Message Mode
Time and date of the incident
Screenshots or other evidence
You can upload and report immediately. The relevant agencies then investigate and take action.
Report these cases immediately.
Cybercriminals are using various methods to trap people. Therefore, it's important to report immediately in the following situations:
Calling impersonating a courier or bank and asking for personal information
Attempted fraud under the pretext of KYC update
Impersonating as police, CBI, RBI or customs officer (digital arrest)
Job offers or missed calls from foreign numbers (+92, +84, +62 etc.)
Where to complain: Choosing the right platform is essential
Rajasthan Police has also explained to the people which platform should be used in which situation.
