Police in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, have achieved a major success in their crackdown on drug trafficking. Acting on a tip-off, police in the city's Luni police station area raided a drug trafficking site and arrested a smuggler, seizing a large cache of illegal opium from his home.
Cooler becomes a place for smuggling
A shocking discovery was made during the police investigation. The accused had cleverly hidden opium milk (doda/liquid form of opium) inside a cooler at home. During the search, police recovered approximately 865 grams of illicit opium milk , which is said to have a very high market value.
The drug was brought from MP
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had brought the drugs from Madhya Pradesh. Police suspect that this smuggler may be connected to a larger network that supplies drugs to various states.
Action under Operation 'Chakravyuh'
This entire operation was carried out under the Jodhpur Police's special operation , "Operation Chakravyuh." The operation aims to curb the growing drug trafficking in the region. Police are now conducting extensive interrogations of the accused to identify other members of this network.
More big revelations likely
Police officials say that the interrogation may reveal significant information. They are also investigating whether the accused was previously involved in this business or recently joined, and to whom the drugs were being supplied.
Police appeal
The police have appealed to the general public to report any drug-related activity anywhere. Public cooperation is crucial to making society drug-free.
This action by Jodhpur Police has once again proven that the campaign against drugs is being continuously intensified. Smuggling drugs by concealing them in simple devices like coolers represents a new tactic by criminals, but police vigilance foiled this plot in time.
