Ghaziabad. A shooting inside a bank in the Loni area of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday sent shockwaves throughout the area. The bank manager posted at the Punjab & Sind Bank branch was shot dead by his own security guard. The incident caused panic among bank employees and customers.
Dispute over leave
According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon at a bank branch in Balram Nagar, within the Loni Border police station area. It is reported that bank security guard Ravindra Hooda had been requesting leave for several days. For some reason, his leave was not being approved, which angered him.
On Monday, a debate broke out between the guard and bank manager Abhishek Sharma on the bank premises regarding this issue. According to eyewitnesses, the argument escalated to the point where the guard drew his service revolver.
Shots fired inside the bank
It is reported that during the argument, the guard, enraged, shot the bank manager in the chest. The manager fell to the ground, causing panic in the bank. Employees and customers immediately rushed him to the hospital.
Doctors declared him dead in the hospital
The injured manager was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead after examination. The incident caused widespread panic among bank staff and local residents.
The accused absconded after the incident
After firing the shot, the accused security guard fled the scene with his gun. Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation.
Police arrested the accused
According to police officials, the accused guard and one of his accomplices were taken into custody shortly after the incident. They are being interrogated to uncover the full truth behind the incident.
