Barmer: There's good news for residents of Barmer and Balotra, long troubled by the need to travel to the state capital, Jaipur. New Star Line bus services will begin on the Barmer-Jaipur route on April 1st. This move will bring relief, especially to travelers who have previously faced difficulties due to limited bus services.
Status of bus and train services in Barmer and Balotra
Even 75 years after India's independence, Barmer district, located near the India-Pakistan international border, remains backward in terms of rail and bus services. In the last decade and a half, the district has emerged on the national map due to the discovery of lignite coal and oil.
Balotra is also gaining recognition nationally and internationally, first as an industrial area and now with the construction of a refinery. Despite this, trains from Barmer and Balotra to major cities like Jaipur and Delhi are limited, and the number of roadway buses is also low, causing inconvenience to travelers.
New bus facilities and timetable
Currently, only five buses operate daily on the Barmer-Jaipur route, which is insufficient for the population of millions. To address this shortage , Jaipur Roadways Headquarters has approved two new Star Line buses.
These new buses will begin operating from April 1. Of these:
The first bus will leave from Barmer for Jaipur at 6:05 pm .
The second bus will leave from Jaipur for Barmer at 7:05 pm .
These buses will stop at key locations along the route, such as Baytu, Balotra, Pachpadra, Jodhpur, and Ajmer. This will provide significant convenience to thousands of passengers.
There was a long-standing demand
Local residents have long demanded new buses. There was a shortage of buses for commuting between Barmer and Jaipur. Now, with the launch of Star Line bus services, passengers will have easier access to the capital and other cities.
